The striking 30 Jellicoe occupies a strategic corner of Rosebank's newly rejuvenated CBD. Stylish, sustainable and functional, this light-filled office building with intelligent external architectural steelwork is home to Fluxmans Attorneys and Common Wealth Bank of South Africa (Tyme Digital).
Playing its own role in the revival of Rosebank into a desirable centre for business and living, the AAA-grade building is on the corner of Jellicoe and Cradock Avenues, close to other offices, high-end art galleries and thriving retail centres, bars and restaurants.
There are six levels of offices with four levels of basement parking.
On trend but timeless in form and function.
We worked with visionary African architects, Paragon, to replace an outdated office block with this creative and dynamic workspace. Its 24m high external steel columns and louvre walls make 30 Jellicoe a one-off.
There are three points of access to all typical office floors – this intentionally flexible interior allows us fit out the space in response to your company's needs. It also allows people to move easily around the office floors and vertically through the building. The triple-volume atrium has an element of playfulness: a cylindrical library with spiral staircase.
Sun smart, earth smart.
30 Jellicoe is oriented to let in plenty of natural light. With floor to ceiling windows, none of the 360-degree views of Joburg’s urban forest are wasted.
The outlook over the iconic inner city skyline at sunset is dazzling. The design carefully considers temperature and light control. The six levels of workspace are heavily screened to the east and west, with deep overhanging sun screens on the north. Paragon designed these sunscreens in response to a series of sun studies executed by a mechanical engineer.
Internally, the orientation of the blades directs your gaze to the treed residential suburbs beyond.
Green principles inform the architectural design. Quality double-glazed glass and energy efficient technologies are used in the building’s electrical and mechanical features. The various horizontals of thebuilding's exterior are planted with trees and shrubs, attracting birdlife and connecting the building with the abundant surrounding trees.
