Soweto Golf Club upgrade
Soweto Country Club is being upgraded in partnership with the City of Johannesburg, Investec Property, SAIL Rights Commercialisation, the Gauteng Provincial Government and Bentel Associates International.
The upgrade is well under-way and the Soweto Golf Club has nearly transformed from a once near impossible course to play on aesthetically, to a beautiful bird haven with rolling greens and water sources around the course.
Soweto Golf Club will play host to the final Sunshine Ladies Tour tournament, the Ladies Joburg Open on 26 March, where the Investec Property Fund Order of Merit will be announced.
Gary Player Class
Investec Property sponsors the Gary Player Class. Launched in 2016 by the Sunshine Tour, the Gary Player Class offers a holistic approach to development by targeting the game itself as well as the many social challenges faced by the country’s historically disadvantaged golfers.
The Gary Player Class of 2017 identified 30 golfers who were given free access to practice facilities, nutrition and fitness advice, coaching, mental training, and financial assistance to play in tournaments on the Sunshine Tour, IGT Tour, Big Easy Tour or MENA Tour in South Africa.
